SENIOR FACILITIES ENGINEERING MANAGER
We are seeking a Senior Facilities Engineering Manager who excels in leading teams, managing large capital projects, is a champion for employee safety, and is driven to provide the highest levels of service to a growing organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively leading the facilities maintenance, production maintenance, janitorial, and safety teams while also project managing facilities improvement and upgrade projects. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering & Operations, the successful candidate will be a key partner for the organization in identifying, quantifying, justifying, and leading improvement initiatives across the business enterprise.

Position Summary:


  • Responsible for campus maintenance and upkeep, maintaining production equipment, environmental compliance, and employee health, safety, and security
  • Proactively drive and support safety improvement initiatives
  • Consistently drive improvements in key metrics, including safety, machine reliability, machine uptime, cost-to-operate, space utilization, utility costs, environmental impact, and occupant comfort. Evaluate and optimize metrics to ensure that the impact to the companys success is being appropriately monitored
  • Act as lead project manager for capital projects, including contract negotiation
  • Foster a culture that is aligned with our companys values. This role has a unique capability to impact the companys ability to contribute positively to our community and environment
  • Function as the lead engineer for all decisions related to facilities and plant equipment. Lead problem-solving activities, including application of root cause analysis techniques
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to establish and audit processes, where applicable
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to create long-range planning for the facility and plant equipment, including capital and major repairs
  • Develop and implement predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance programs
  • Continually evaluate internal and external capabilities to ensure that all necessary competencies have appropriate coverage. Analyze options and present recommended approaches that will provide the highest levels of service at the right cost
  • Identify and qualify external partners in specialty areas, including HVAC, roofing, structural, interior construction, and general contracting
  • Actively drive department financial planning cycle and manage department costs to plan
  • Hire, evaluate, train, and support the development of staff at every level
  • Actively participate in efforts for Lean, 5S, and other continuous improvement programs and processes, including ISO procedures
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to allocate office space according to company

      Professional Profile:

      • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering
      • P.E. preferred
      • Minimum 15 years of direct experience in facilities management
      • Supervisory experience required
      • Experience with ERP systems, Oracle JDE/E1 preferred
      • Well-versed in leveraging ISO 9001 and 14001 standards to achieve best in class performance
