Job Title:RN Unit Based Per Diem- Neonatal ICU- Day Shift Department:Neonatal Intensive Care Shift:1st Specialty:Neonatal Intensive Care Job Number:2021-4368 Date Posted:11/04/2021 Position Type:Nursing-In-Patient Job Qualifications: Rush University Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse looking to work in a well-established and dynamic Neonatal ICU at a leading academic medical center. This position is a Unit Based Per Diem position Position Highlights: NICU staff are excited to have moved to Rush's new Tower facility featuring all private rooms and latest technology. NICU staff members carry devices with advance communication technology to maintain constant contact with their infants' physiological parameters. We offer a Care by Parent Program, an internationally recognized Breastfeeding Program and provide developmentally supportive care to our patients. NICU is part of the Rush Pediatric Patient and Family Advisory Council Position Responsibilities: Evidence Based Interventions Participates in the collection of data to support unit based quality initiatives, research and evidence based activities. Utilizes system wide resources to support decision making and action. Recognizes patterns/groupings of problems in a specific patient population that require investigation and initiates actions to address. Communicates current evidence-based information with peers. Relationships and Caring Establishes a caring, therapeutic relationship with patients and families through effective communication, acknowledgement of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Collaborates consistently and effectively with other disciplines and services to meet the needs of patients/families. Critical Thinking Utilizes competent assessment skills to holistically evaluate the physical and psychosocial needs of patients and families. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize care for complex patients based on knowledge acquired from previous clinical experiences. Recognizes changes in patient status and consistently responds effectively. Technical Expertise Demonstrates consistent safe and effective use of medical devices in the delivery of patient care. Demonstrates accountability for implementing policies related to safe and effective administration of medications. Assesses patient safety needs consistently and implements appropriate strategies (fall precautions, infection control, suicide risk patient identification) to minimize risk. Individualizes teaching plans based on a thorough assessment to meet the learning needs of patients and families. Leadership Demonstrates the ability to provide education to staff and students on the unit. Demonstrates beginning leadership skills related to patient care. Delegates effectively and consistently to optimize patient outcomes. Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice, including progress toward achievement of annual goals Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (BSN) required Current state of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required At least 1 year of RN experience or more in a NICU is preferred At least 1 year of RN experience or more in an Intensive Care Unit is preferred Company Highlights: Ranked among the top academic medical centers in the country, Rush University Medical Center is an outstanding place to enhance your career.
