Registered Nurse 2- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
18 bed ICU area providing care to a wide range of Pediatric
med/surg patients at a leading Chicago academic medical center
12 Hour- Night Shift
Position Highlights:

Strong Preceptor Orientations provided for all new staff under the
guidance of a Pediatric Nurse Educator
12 hr shifts/ 72 hr pay periods. 7PM-7AM
Rush University (located on same campus) offers graduate programs
with Pediatric focus and generous tuition/enhancement options
Position Responsibilities:
Provide intensive care to a wide range of Pediatric med/surg
patients including congenital cardiac patients
Growing cardiovascular/Interventional/ECMO Program as well as a
developing craniofacial surgery population.
Unit features evidence-based practice utilizing latest research as
the foundation of care
Position Qualifications Include:
Earned nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher (except
RN1s hired and already working at Rush University Medical Center
before October, 2012). All transfers from other Rush entities must
have an earned nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher
prior to transfer into Rush University Medical Center or Rush
University Medical Group.
May accept Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) effective 1/9/23 up
until approved number of ADN hires by Chief Nursing Officer is met
with the following stipulations: Baccalaureate degree must be
earned within timeframe outlined in the ADN Condition of
Employment.
IL RN license.
1 year Pediatric ICU experience or equivalent clinical RN (post-
license) experience required.
CPR required; PALS preferred
Work requires the ability to walk throughout the Medical Center and
to be standing or walking most of the designated shift.
Work requires lifting or carrying objects 35-40lbs. and lifting and
positioning patients, some of whom may exceed 300 lbs.
