Job Description:
Job description NexTerra is looking for an Environmental Health
and Safety Manager to develop, implement and administer all EHS
programs at a fast-paced winery. Someone who is self-motivated and
passionate about workplace safety, employee health and
environmental compliance. Responsibilities include but are not
limited to: Maintain site related EHS permits, licenses,
registrations Prepare all environmental, health and safety
regulatory and company required reports. Audits manufacturing
processes and makes recommendations for process safety Responsible
for all site safety training, including employee safety training
orientation, equipment safety training, internal audits, data
generation and record retention. Flexibility and ability to handle
emergency situations. Provides professional EHS advise across all
levels of management. Investigates accidents and incidents
(including near misses), determines root causes, and implements
corrective action plans. Supports creation of EHS goals for
managers and employees to drive EHS culture, and regulatory
compliance. Responsible for all aspects of EHS, including OSHA, and
environmental record keeping, safety audits, and accident
investigations and identifying workplace hazards Develop, evaluate
and maintain department budget for safety area Ensure the facility
complies with OSHA and environmental laws and regulations Develop,
deliver, and track participation in health and safety related
training and OSHA related certifications Provide ongoing support to
department managers for safety meetings and department work
modification. Reviews injury reports to ensure all incidents are
properly reported and appropriate action has been taken to prevent
recurrence. Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports to
regulatory agencies. The duties and responsibilities described are

may be assigned from time to time as necessitated by business need
Requirements Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in EHS
science, industrial hygiene, or related discipline. Relevant
technical experience working in an OSHA/EPA safety-related role in
a manufacturing environment, preferably food and beverage industry.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of setting up and
managing EHS systems. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills Ability to build and strengthen links to both the internal
organization and externally to the wider organization. A successful
candidate will be a team leader and teacher. Someone who can
effectively communication and influence individuals in all
functional departments to create a culture of safety behavior in
everyday tasks. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Competencies: -- Ability to read and interpret documents such as
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization. -- Ability to define problems, collect
data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in
mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and
concrete variables. Supervisory Responsibilities: -- Manage and
control the costs of the department within the agreed budget --
Effective leader and teacher among all levels of employees.
Physical Job Functions: -- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
frequently -- Must be able to stand for 8 hours -- Must be able to
