Location: Chicago, IL Job Description:
- Provide direct patient care and formulate plan of care in
collaboration with physician, nursing staff, and the
multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges
approved by the Credentials Committee.--
- Communicate follow-up plan/disposition with the follow-up
health care provider.--
- Prescribe and evaluate pharmacological therapies according to
protocol.--
- Attend both high and low-risk deliveries as needed.--
- Stabilize and transport patients as needed.--
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of current professional and
legal trends, concepts, and issues related to practice.--
- Identify educational needs of family members and assist with
teaching as appropriate.--
- Ensure that appropriate systems and resources are in place to
maintain established standards of care.--
- Participate in self and peer evaluation to improve quality of
care.--
- Participate in the development, review, and evaluation of
policies and procedures.--
- Participate in developing and implementing QI
monitoring.--
- Participate in providing in-service and outreach education
program.
- Act as resource for clinical skills for staff on or of the
unit.--
- May participate in clinical research projects conducted by
supervising physicians.--
- Serve as preceptor to APP students.--
- Interprets assessments, treatments, outcomes, work and
disability status, and screenings in a thorough manner. Maintains
clear and concise records for individual and corporate clients to
meet the requirements of the department, the company and any
applicable standards or laws.--
- Analyzes test data or images to inform diagnosis or
treatment.--
- Has a solid understanding about drug regimens and possible side
effects or interactions with other substances such as food
supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, or herbal
remedies.--
- Evaluates goals and outcomes taking into account the
benefit-versus-burden, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness for
the patient, family, and the organization.--
- Develops diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions
needed to achieve the goals and outcomes of the patient-----s plan
of care.--

Qualifications -- -- Education: --
- Advanced nursing degree from an accredited school/college of
nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant
educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review
Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.-- --
Experience: --
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a related area of
specialty.--
- Previous experience as an APP in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric
Neurology.-- -- Licenses and Certifications for Advanced Practice
Nurse: --
- FNP certification as family nurse practitioner.--
- Current Advanced Practice Nurse license in the State of
Illinois and State of Indiana or eligibility to receive by start
date.--
- Once licensed, apply for a mid-level practitioner-controlled
license and DEA number.-- -- Licenses and Certifications for
Physician Assistant: --
- Current Physician Assistant license/registration in the State
of Illinois and State of Indiana or eligibility to receive by start
date.
- Certification from the National Commission for the
Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) by start date.
- Once licensed, apply for a mid-level practitioner-controlled
