programResponsibilities:Primarily performs OB/GYN sonographic
procedures on high risk obstetric patients. Ensures quality
standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement.
Maintains current knowledge of sonographic technology and
equipment, as applicable. Demonstrates excellent communication and
customer service skills. Acts as a knowledge resource for students,
technologists, and others.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESUltrasound
procedures (60%)Performs abdominal and transvaginal OB/Gyn
sonographic procedures according to department standard in a timely
and efficient mannerProduces examinations that meet image quality
standards in accordance to department protocols. Submits images for
physician interpretationRecord documentation (15%)Verifies accuracy
of patient demographic information, pertinent clinical diagnosis,
and required technical resultsData must be entered accurately and
in a timely fashion to provide optimal patient care. Verifies all
technical data entry components are complete prior to the end of
shiftAssist provider and practice (10%)Assists physician with in
office procedures related to obstetric care, including but not
exclusive to, amniocentesis and chorionic villi samplingAble to
assist physician with fetal echo studies. Actively participates in
a multidisciplinary approach to patient careWorks closely with
nurses and physicians to achieve positive outcomes and optimal
patient flowOffice duties (10%)Monitors stock of supplies in
imagining rooms to assure their regular availability by timely
reordering, rotation of dated items, and by maintenance of a clean
and orderly environmentReports incidences of equipment failure and
actively supports organizational changesAdheres to institutional
safety procedures as described in the institutional safety
programPerforms job functions while modeling service principles
with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and
teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to
patients, families, co-workers and othersPatient education
(5%)Provides patient education in the form of written material
and/or verbal explanation prior to, during and subsequent to the
procedure in order to reduce the patients anxiety and enhance
comfort zone with respect to tolerance of the
procedureQualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIREDLicense / Registration / CertificationAmerican Registry of
Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification is
mandatoryRDMS (AB, OB) requiredBasic Life Support (CPR)
Certification required and must be renewed every two
yearsMaintains, or obtains (within 3 months of hire), active Nuchal
Translucency License while employedIssued by (Governing
Body)American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
