This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment specializing in acute and cardiac care with a focus on patient-centered outcomes. Responsibilities: Provide expert nursing care on a 20-bed step-down unit with a 4:1 patient ratio Manage cardiac drips including Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, and Nitroprusside Care for patients requiring BIPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and chest tubes Perform occasional bedside cardioversions with Cath Lab support Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team including unit secretaries, nurse externs, patient care techs, and leadership Participate in bedside shift reports and mandatory shift huddles Maintain strict adherence to unit policies and documentation via electronic medical records Desired Qualifications: Active RN license with demonstrated Step-Down nursing experience ACLS certification required Proven experience managing complex cardiac patients and sepsis protocols Ability to float to other step-down and med-surg units as needed Commitment to punctuality, teamwork, and accountability Location Overview:Situated near Richmond, VA, Midlothian offers a balance of suburban comfort with easy access to city amenities.
