Job Description Job Description Pediatrician Position Overview
This position entails delivering comprehensive pediatric services,
which include diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and patient
education in an outpatient clinical environment. The Pediatrician
will work closely with health center personnel to provide
culturally sensitive, patient-focused care, maintain electronic
health records, and engage in ongoing professional development and
training. Candidates must possess an MD or DO with board
certification, relevant primary care experience, and a commitment
to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Client Overview

Pediatrician - Role Summary: Deliver a comprehensive range of
services within the scope of training, including but not limited to
diagnosis, treatment, care coordination, preventive care, and
electronic health record (EHR) management, while adhering to
quality management, risk management, infection control, customer
service, and safety protocols. Clinical and Operational
ResponsibilitiesGeneral Clinical Duties Gather health histories and
conduct physical examinations. Diagnose, treat, counsel, and
coordinate care for patients. Review and update problem lists and
care plans at each visit. Meet documentation standards and complete
progress notes within 24 hours post-visit. Fulfill on-call duties
as per the established schedule and respond to calls within 20
minutes. Prescribe medications in compliance with Illinois laws and
professional guidelines. Perform all tasks in accordance with
established quality standards and clinical guidelines. Meet
Meaningful Use criteria by utilizing certified EHR technology to
enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and reduce health disparities
while ensuring patient privacy and security. Manage EHR In-Basket,
delegate responsibilities when necessary, and respond to messages
(e.g., lab results, refills, patient inquiries) within 72 hours.
Patient Support and Education Deliver culturally competent care.
Involve patients’ families as essential members of the care team.
Ensure that the needs of patients and families are addressed while
adhering to clinic policies. Encourage patients and families to
express questions and concerns. Collaborate with patients and
families to promote self-management of care. Conduct educational
activities, including pre- and post-exam instructions, illness and
treatment guidance, and reinforcement of follow-up instructions.
Utilize printed health education materials appropriately and
document all instructions, adjusting the presentation to match the
patient's understanding. Work with the care team and case
management to ensure coordinated delivery of services. Ensure
appropriate transfer of patients with higher acuity than clinically
suitable for the health center. Meet admission criteria based on
service intensity and illness severity. Job RequirementsPCMH
Requirements Coordinate with health center staff at all levels to
meet patient needs. Participate in health center meetings and
adhere to scheduled productivity standards. Ensure timely and
clinically appropriate patient visits, involving medical assistants
and front desk staff as needed. Ensure care teams effectively
implement treatment, education, and clinical tasks according to
established policies. Provider Development Assist in the
orientation and training of staff as necessary. Ensure the care
team meets internal certification standards for patient education
and medication administration. Participate in proficiency testing
to maintain care standards. May serve as a preceptor for medical
residents, students, and other allied health professionals. Comply
with Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and
Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) regulations. Perform additional
duties as assigned. Requirements and Preferences Doctor of
Osteopathy (D.O.) or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) is required.
Completion of a residency in a primary care specialty and board
certification is mandatory. A minimum of two (2) years of
experience in primary care medicine in an outpatient setting is
preferred. Current licensure in Illinois, DEA registration, and
compliance with CME requirements are necessary. Knowledge of
relevant rules, regulations, and standards related to quality
assurance, safety, and infection control is required. Proficiency
in Electronic Health Records; familiarity with EPIC is preferred.
