Behavioral Health Tech Location: Harvey, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $902 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician Profession: Behavioral Health Tech Specialty: Behavioral Health Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year experience required Locked Unit experience required License: Must have state RN license Must have state LPN/LVN license Must have state CNA license Certifications: BLS CPI Must-Have: Experience with vital signs Experience with 4-point restraints Experience with de-escalation techniques Experience leading group therapy preferred Description: The behavioral health technician will provide care to adult patients experiencing acute mental health crises. Responsibilities include monitoring patients and assisting with daily activities. The role requires the ability to administer vital signs and apply restraints when necessary. Experience in crisis intervention and behavior management techniques is required. Familiarity with the management of various mental health disorders is preferred. Candidates should have experience with therapeutic communication skills and managing self-harming behaviors. Knowledge of isolation procedures and room/patient safety checks is essential. The position offers no on-call or floating requirements. Some holidays and weekends may be included in the schedule. All patients are 18 years of age and older. The unit focuses on stabilization and safety, with a multidisciplinary support team available. Candidates must ensure compliance with all certifications and be prepared for a background check.
