remarkable accomplishment. The Lead Respiratory Therapist performs
a variety of therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving
invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, analyzes and
appraises the care given to patients within the Respiratory
department. Advises the Director of Respiratory Services regarding
the status of patient care, and quality improvement processes.
Anticipates and estimates future needs of the Units to improve
quality of patient care. Position Summary The Night Shift Lead
Respiratory Therapist provides clinical leadership and oversight of
respiratory care services for pediatric residents in a long-term
care setting. This role serves as the primary respiratory resource
during the night shift, ensuring high-quality, safe, and
evidence-based care while supporting staff, coordinating workflow,
and maintaining compliance with organizational policies and
regulatory standards. · Leads the respiratory therapy work of the
night shift, acting as a clinical resource and providing guidance
and support to respiratory staff and interdisciplinary team
members. · Performs, interprets, and evaluates respiratory
procedures in accordance with current organizational and
departmental policies. · Oversees, monitors, and troubleshoots
respiratory equipment to ensure optimal function and patient
safety. · Initiates and follows respiratory care policies and
protocols according to department criteria and physician orders. ·
Administers respiratory medications in a timely, safe, and
effective manner; evaluates patient response and reassesses as
appropriate per policy. · Maintains awareness of each assigned
patient's overall condition and communicates changes, concerns, and
care recommendations to the nurse, physicians, and Medical
Director. · Ensures timely and accurate communication of patient
progress to nursing staff, physicians, and other departments. ·
Identifies potential safety hazards affecting patients or staff and
takes appropriate corrective action or escalates concerns per
policy. · Accurately records productivity and workload data as
required. · Monitors respiratory supplies and equipment; notifies
Procurement when items are low, out on loan, or in need of repair.
· Utilizes time effectively to meet productivity standards while
maintaining quality patient care. · Demonstrates flexibility in
responding to schedule changes, emergencies, and individual patient
or staffing needs. · Supports the leadership team in coordinating
quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. · Identifies
opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and patient
satisfaction. Schedule: · Full-time, nights with weekend rotation ·
Required to work at least 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday. ·
Must be able to work 3/12's and every 3rd weekend. Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration: · Required Credential(s):
· Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) · Respiratory Care
Practitioner credentialed from the NBRC obtained prior to hire date
or job transfer date. · BLS through American Heart Association or
American Red Cross accepted. · Minimum 5 years of experience as a
Respiratory Therapist, preferably in a pediatric setting. · Ability
to pass criminal background check and drug testing. · Must be able
to lift, push, pull or carry a minimum of 50 lbs. Benefits:
