An opportunity is available for a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) with operating room experience to provide essential support in a vibrant hospital environment located in Olympia Fields, IL. This contract role offers 10-hour day shifts and involves on-call responsibilities during weekdays and weekends, ideal for professionals ready to deliver excellence in surgical care. Location Olympia Fields is a serene suburb located just south of Chicago, combining small-town charm with convenient access to urban amenities. Responsibilities Assist surgical teams during procedures with instrument and equipment handling. Prepare and maintain sterile field in the operating room. Ensure all surgical instruments are properly sterilized and organized. Respond to on-call duties during weekdays (5pm-7am) and weekends as scheduled. Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to maintain high standards of patient care. Utilize EPIC electronic medical records for documentation and communication. Qualifications / Desired Experience Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technician in an Operating Room setting. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Ability to work 10-hour day shifts with weekday and weekend on-call availability. Strong communication skills and ability to work well under pressure. Familiarity with EPIC EMR system is a plus. Schedule 10-hour day shifts: 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM Weekday on-call: 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM (6 calls) Weekend on-call: 60 total hours Saturday/Sunday This role offers a dynamic work environment at a leading healthcare facility. Parking and reporting instructions will be provided following HR clearance. Candidates may be required to complete certain education modules prior to the start date.
