Position Highlights: This position will provide services for outpatient pediatric patients and in support of physicians.This person will provide specialty focus which includes additional training and expertise in the evaluation and treatment of patients with articulation, fluency and language deficits. The SLP will work as part of an interdisciplinary team and provide video fluoroscopic swallow evaluations. The SLP will develop and implement evidenced based individual patient care plans and make recommendations related to voice, speech language and swallowing deficits. The SLP will also train and supervise students as part of the academic medical center and SLP academic program. Position Responsibilities: Effectively administers and interprets diagnostic testing for outpatients, related to speech pathology. Provide comprehensive and appropriate speech, language, voice and swallowing servicesRecommends therapeutic plans based on assessments and collaborates with parents. Provides targeted therapies in consultation with physicians and other professionals. Actively participate in all aspects of departmental program developmentInvolvement and support of the Department's scholarly/research activityAssist with one or more special clinical projects such as quality Improvement, outcome measures, or multidisciplinary clinic participation Effectively contribute to the departmental teaching programPosition Qualifications Include: Minimum of a Master's level degree and holds or is eligible for Illinois licensure in Speech Language PathologyMinimum of 3 year post Fellow experience with pediatric patientsPrefer training in VFSS swallowing and communication disorders. Dysphagia and tracheostomy/ventilator/speaking valves experience required.
