We're currently seeking a Full-Time Payroll Coordinator. Tons of growth and opportunity expected. The Payroll Coordinator assists in the preparation of IRT's semi-monthly and bi-weekly U.S. payrolls and interact with employees throughout the organization.Independence Realty Trust, Inc (IRT - NYSE) is a fully integrated real estate investment trust, currently managing over 15,000 multi-family units, 58 communities, in 17 markets. IRT has a strong commitment to hiring the most talented industry professionals, which has resulted in record growth, making the Company one of the most respected and trusted within our industry.Responsibilities:+ Perform established payroll internal control activities.+ Partner with the Payroll Manager in processing bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll, ensuring compliance and accuracy.+ Understand/monitor the flow of information between Human Resources and the payroll system, ensuring that all changes submitted to payroll (including W4 and direct deposit changes) are processed correctly.+ Review computed wages ensuring the accuracy of earnings and deductions.+ Research discrepancies such as time card mistakes, time off requests overtime, on-call hours, etc.+ Partner with the Payroll Manager in processing employee bonuses.+ Review payroll documentation for accuracy using audit reports.+ Process attendance records and other documents (e.g. W-2 and tax forms.)+ Coordinate with HR about changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires.)+ Oversee distribution of payroll checks.+ Update payroll data such as salary or wage adjustments.+ Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.+ Enter data into ADP for New Hire/Term/Transfer and Promotions and auditing for accuracy and compliance.+ Maintain employee confidentiality and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.+ Answer Payroll and time sheet questions from staff.Qualifications:+ Bachelor's Degree in relevant field preferred.+ Proven experience and familiarity with HR practices and payroll processing.+ Experience in ADP & UKG (UltiPro) preferred.+ Experience running payroll for California employees preferred.+ Familiarity with MS Office Suite and at least an intermediate to advanced user of MS Excel (functions, data etc.)+ Good understanding of general accounting rules and practices+ Proven customer service skills and a commitment to excellence are required.+ Must have meticulous attention to detail.+ Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.+ The ability maintain confidentiality.+ Must be a team player who can also work independently.We offer:+ Competitive Compensation Package+ Bonus Opportunities+ Stock Awards+ Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off+ BCBS PPO Medical Insurance, Dental and Vision Insurance+ 401k with 4% matchIndependence Realty Trust is an Equal Opportunity Employer and committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture.
