Description: Esperanza Health Centers is looking to expand our Human Resources Department by adding an amazing Human Resources Generalist to the team!Esperanza Health Centers is a non-profit Community Healthcare Centers serving Chicago's Southwest side. The Human Resource Generalist will work collaboratively across departments to perform the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) team including recruiting, hiring and development and coordination of training staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and developing, maintaining and enforcing company policies and practices.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.2. Recruits and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.3. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.4. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.5. Performs tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.6. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.7. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.8. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.9. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.10.   • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, preferred
  • Five years of Human Resources management experience, required
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Applicant Tracking System, required - Paylocity, preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Thorough knowledge of employment- related laws and regulations
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
