JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Payroll Process Analyst is responsible for day-to-day payroll activities for all business units utilizing Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS) Payroll module and Kronos. This position will work closely with third party vendors, internal and external customers, and other Payroll team members to ensure the accuracy and timely reporting of payroll. This position will also work closely with other departments to ensure the end-to-end payroll process is executed accurately and timely, while handling all employee transactions with strict confidence.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Payroll Analyst will be part of a team of payroll analysts who are responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for performing the following activities:

  • Maintaining accurate and timely payroll processes for all business units
  • Work with third party vendor on payroll adjustment entries and payroll reporting
  • Provide guidance to all business units on hour/wage entry, taxation inquiries and payroll deadlines
  • Ensure payroll balancing activities for all business units.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with peers to effectively manage payroll workloads during peak times
  • Review and analyze payroll data to identifying trends, goals, and areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate as a team to develop process improvements supporting the payroll process as a whole
  • Work with the treasury, corporate accounting, field locations and third-party service provider teams to best serve our customers
  • Communicate with Payroll Process Manager regarding issues or concerns REQUIRED SKILLS
    • Bachelor's degree in business related field
    • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience with increasing responsibility
    • Broad and deep knowledge and experience working within Oracle E-Business Suite HR and Payroll modules and Kronos Workforce Central timekeeper
    • Support and document Oracle and Kronos configurations, customization, reports, and interfaces.
    • Testing periodic, quarterly, and annual system updates and tax changes
    • Knowledge of Payroll terminology, methods of calculation, and industry practices
    • Ensures accuracy and quality of the data in the payroll systems which include analyzing payroll information flow through manual and automated processes, data audits, and ad-hoc queries on a regular basis
    • Ability to multitask (assess, prioritize/reprioritize, and manage duties) and work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, independently or as a key resource of various teams
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications DESIRED SKILLS
      • Experience creating pay codes, work rules and troubleshooting issues in Kronos
      • Working knowledge of Oracle's element creation and linking, manual balance adjustments, and end-to-end payroll functionality.
      • Year-End reporting and W-2 processing
      • Exposure to Canadian payroll, taxation rules, and record of employment
