Job Description:

The Human Resources and Benefits Administrator is responsible for benefits and wellness administration, onboarding/offboarding and payroll administration under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and Benefits. Other key responsibilities include, the annual open enrollment process, identifying benefit options and obtaining advise from brokers when necessary and overseeing the annual 401(k) audit. Also performs payroll related-functions, including payroll processing of biweekly and monthly payrolls, payroll tax compliance, automated timekeeping systems, and payroll reporting in a multistate. The Human Resources and Benefits Administrator will need to be able to multitask effectively and essentially to thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:


  • Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments and terminations as well as bill reconciliation from our multiple providers. Serve as the COBRA Administrator for the firm.
  • Manage the annual open enrollment process beginning with the accurate preparation of census materials followed by review of benefit renewal documentation, work with the broker and provide recommendations to the Director of Human Resources and Benefits.
  • Arrange for the distribution of all plan summary materials and required benefit materials and communicating all benefit changes to employees and arranging for onsite representation by providers.
  • Act as the plan administrator for the retirement plans.
  • Coordinate and assist with the ACA (Affordable Care Act) and ERISA benefits reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with Controller in completion of payroll submission and payroll compliance.
  • Prepare government reports relating to EEO, OSHA or other HR functions.
  • Promote positive employee relations activities including employee engagement activities, policy review and enforcement and assist with conflict resolution and investigating employee relations concerns, when needed.


    • Maintain personnel records and file compliance.
    • Maintain personal HR (re)certifications and attend trainings and seminars as required.
    • Engage in review, audit and understanding of best practices within the industry and successfully implement best practices as needed or required.
    • Act as a liaison with various vendors and foster effective relationships with client representatives.
    • Create and update new hire resources that embody firm wide culture and support the new hire's transition to RSHC.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for all new hires, building relationships before new hires' start dates and deepening them during orientation.
    • Travel to other offices may be required.
    • Other duties as assigned.
