This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency. Your Responsibilities As a Senior Embedded Software Systems Engineer within ISG Tech Stack, Embedded Infrastructure located in one of the following locations including Urbandale IA, Moline IL, Cary NC, Fargo ND you will---Design and Implement core infrastructure components and solutions to support product line automation and autonomy projects.Assist in integration and software development activities around infrastructure systems (embedded operating systems, reprogramming, networks, and diagnostics) into John Deere products.Provide technical leadership, lead proof of concepts/technology development and support first adopters on application of new core technologies.Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the source of issues and the impact on hardware and software. What Skills You Need 5+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and some of that experience with embedded systems.3 years of experience with embedded communication protocols on hardware topologies such as CAN, ethernet, LIN, etc.3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.Strong communication and collaboration skillsAbility and willingness to work in a diverse team environment, helping others on the team succeed What Makes You Stand Out Ability to work with cross functional stakeholders (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, product design, marketing, etc) to understand customer requirements and how those can be translated into software requirements and implementationsAbility to learn quickly, adapt, and willingness to keep growing skills to contribute to an evolving teamFocus and passion for developing innovative technical solutions to solve customer problemsBackground with John Deere products and product development engineering experience in software and electrical systems.Experience with high power electrical systems.
