Sr. Front-End Developer - Chicago

Our Front-End Developer works on global client projects, architecting system-level solutions that bring value to our customers. Through purposeful web development you'll provide innovative user experience techniques for our proprietary platform, SwitchboardTM.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Consistently deliver clean, robust modular code

- Scope and deliver projects within realistic timeframes

- Improve data model designs by adding and building new features into our current framework

- Advocate for new and innovative technologies, and continuous improvement in our product line-up

- Provide SME and mentoring support to your teammates

- Conduct daily stand-ups

- Produce planning and task estimation roadmaps and reports

- Support colleagues with code review and best practice recommendations

Skills and Qualifications

--- Minimum 4 years of prior experience in front-end engineering

--- Highly proficient in HTML/CSS3 and CSS animation

--- Advanced knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6-2022) and TypeScript

--- Familiarity with mono-repo controlled repositories.

--- Advanced expertise using JavaScript frameworks, with a preference for React, to create components and applications

--- Expertise in Redux for state management, and RxJS for event based reactive programming

--- Familiarity with React tooling like Redux Toolkit, selectors and React Context API

--- Experience using component libraries like Material UI

--- Familiarity implementing real-time experiences

--- Expertise in unit testing using tools such as, Mocha, Jasmine, Jest, Cypress

--- Strong knowledge of SASS and LESS preprocessors

--- Key understanding of REST API

--- Experience with NodeJS applied to workflows and build pipelines

--- A solid understanding of engineering best practices and can work with Git version control

--- Excellent interpersonal skills and a clear communicator

--- Understanding of APIs and able to propose changes to JSON schemas.

--- Exposure to relational data bases

--- Understanding of AWS or Lamda

--- CMS experience (usage or development)
