Job Description:

I am currently searching for a skilled, passionate and personable Systems Developer to work on a permanent basis in Chicago for an exciting job with a financial firm! This company is located right near public transit with a great view of the city, river and much more!
 
Primary responsibilities for Sr Systems Developer job will include, but not limited .NET (C#) developer to develop and support mission critical trading and trading support applications within an established application ecosystem. As part of the Application Development team the developer will have direct interaction with stakeholders, senior developers and the trading support team, and will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle. By building an understanding our application architecture and business domain this person will be positioned to add significant value to the technology organization. Our application portfolio includes a wide range of components from order entry systems, an order management system, exchange-facing adapters, market data processors, risk systems, web-based portal applications and mobile applications.
                                                                                                        
This role does not require specific business knowledge, but financial knowledge would be a plus in the evaluation process.

For consideration, you must have the following skills:
•         Bachelor’s Degree or relevant significant industry experience
•         5-7 years’ experience in the following areas:
 
Technical:
• Solid understanding of client-side development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience using frameworks like ExtJS or any other javascript and JQuery
• Demonstrated user experience and interface design
• Familiarity with SQL development
• Demonstrated communication ability with business analysts and end users
• Demonstrated ability to work and learn independently or as part of a team
• Some experience with PHP or C# with either MVC and/or WebAPI
• Desired but not required:
• Experience with automated testing of client-side components desired
• Mobile development w/Sencha Touch
• Familiarity with both Debian and Windows Server
 
Design:
•         Able to produce functional and technical requirements and translate them into wireframe mockups and/or prototypes
•         Can identify and implement responsive web design principles where appropriate
•         Can integrate solutions with a framework of common service applications
•         Interested in applying new technology-specific approaches and patterns
 
Business:
Specific business knowledge is not required for the candidate that meets the above technical prerequisites (but is an advantage if the candidate has both). This position will afford exposure to:
•         Financial trading industry experience - Futures and Options
•         Detailed knowledge of Order/trade life cycle
