and drive change.Job SummaryWe are seeking an attorney with
significant experience in private equity limited partnerships and
other privately placed note transactions.Full legal services
provided to the Investments, Treasury and Corporate Development
Division (ITCD) of the Finance Department and parent corporation's
portfolio managers.Corporate transaction specialist and legal
expert in private equity limited partnerships and other privately
placed transactions. Work assignments frequently consist of complex
legal issues and facts, which require considerable legal judgment,
experience and independent reasoning. This is not a trial attorney
position.Experience in negotiating limited partnerships, private
placements or other secured transaction documents would be
helpful.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms a combination
of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities1. Strong knowledge of the theories,
principles, practices and procedures of legal risk and management
within an insurance organization or other regulated industry, which
may include investment advisory services.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and
presentation skills.
3. Strong negotiation, consultative and facilitation skills with
the ability to interact effectively with all internal and external
business partners.
4. Ability to exercise independent judgment and to work with and
maintain confidential and sensitive information.
5. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability
to manage ambiguous situations and issues.
6. Proven ability to take a proactive long-term view of business
goals and objectives to achieve strategic business results.
7. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and other
business-related software.
Education & Experience1. Bachelor's degree and JD (or equivalent),
and admission to the bar of at least one state.
2. Minimum of five years of legal experience with a proven track
record of results.
