Job Description Job Description Corporate Restructuring Mid-Level Associate Attorney Location: Chicago, IL Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Restructuring Mid-Level Associate to join a top-tier national law firm’s Financial Restructuring practice in its Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience handling sophisticated restructuring matters, including both out-of-court restructurings and workouts as well as complex Chapter 11 business reorganizations , representing debtors and lenders. Key Responsibilities Include: Representing institutional and private credit lenders and large public and private companies in in-court and out-of-court restructuring matters Negotiating and drafting loan and credit documents Advising on and exercising lender remedies Drafting core restructuring documents and pleadings, including: Plans of reorganization Restructuring support agreements First-day motions Other Chapter 11 filings Collaborating with partners and clients on complex financial restructurings across a range of industries Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years of relevant restructuring experience Meaningful experience with Chapter 11 matters, including debtor and lender-side representations Excellent academic credentials Strong organizational, analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills Admission to the Illinois Bar (required) This opportunity offers hands-on experience with high-profile restructurings and the chance to work within a well-established, market-leading restructuring group.
