Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Shipping &
Receiving Lead plays a critical role in managing and overseeing all
shipping and receiving operations within the organization to ensure
timely, accurate, and efficient movement of goods. This position is
responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments,
supervising warehouse staff, and maintaining compliance with safety
and regulatory standards. The lead will work closely with
logistics, inventory control, and customer service teams to
optimize workflow and resolve any issues related to shipments. They
will also be instrumental in implementing process improvements to
enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Ultimately, the
Shipping & Receiving Lead ensures that all shipping and receiving
activities support the company’s overall supply chain objectives
and customer satisfaction goals. Minimum Qualifications: High
school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of experience in
shipping and receiving or warehouse operations. Proven experience
in a supervisory or lead role within a warehouse or logistics
environment. Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures,
including inventory control and documentation. Ability to operate
warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in logistics,
supply chain management, or a related field. Experience with
warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software. Forklift
certification and other relevant safety training certifications.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as OSHA and DOT
standards. Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives
within a warehouse setting. Responsibilities: Supervise and
coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure
accuracy and timeliness. Manage and train warehouse staff,
providing guidance and support to maintain high performance
standards. Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and
accuracy, resolving discrepancies as needed. Maintain accurate
records of shipments, inventory levels, and related documentation
using warehouse management systems. Collaborate with logistics,
procurement, and customer service teams to streamline operations
and address any shipment-related issues. Ensure compliance with
safety regulations and company policies in all shipping and
receiving processes. Identify opportunities for process
improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency
and reduce costs. Skills: The Shipping & Receiving Lead utilizes
strong organizational and leadership skills daily to manage team
workflows and ensure operational efficiency. Attention to detail is
critical when inspecting shipments and maintaining accurate records
to prevent errors and discrepancies. Communication skills are
essential for coordinating with internal teams and external
partners to resolve issues and optimize processes. Technical
proficiency with warehouse management systems and inventory
software supports effective tracking and reporting of goods
movement. Additionally, knowledge of safety protocols and
regulatory compliance ensures a safe working environment and
adherence to industry standards.
