Job Description:
Cardno is seeking an Equipment Operator - Ecological Restoration
to implement construction work in the ecological restoration
management fields. Under the direction of the Operations Manager
and Project Manager, the position requires implementing a high
quality product, interpreting construction plans/ specifications,
adherence to Cardno's Health and Safety culture, and ensuring
equipment function and maintenance. Projects will involve operating
light equipment including tractors, skid steers, excavators and
seeders. Position also requires field labor at times. A typical
workday consists of an 8-10 hour day although, in accordance with
the requirements of specific assignments, may include irregular
hours. Position may also require overnight travel.Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:* Implementing and constructing
restoration project work at the ground level under the direction of
regional Operations Manager and/or Project Managers* Grading,
placement of rock and water structures, native planting, seeding,
erosion control installation, mowing, herbicide application,
prescribed fire or any other activities necessary with field
implementation of ecological restoration projects* Operators may be
required to spend up to 1-4 nights per week out of town working at
remote locations* Adhering to corporate policies, operate through
the proper management channels, and act in the best interest of
firmBasic qualifications:* High School Diploma, GED or Bachelors*
Valid Driver's License* Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or Red Card*
4+ years operating light machinery* Experience or willingness to
operate truck/ trailer combinations (+20,000 lb GVWR* Ability to
travel overnight for 1-4 days out of town* Must be authorized to
work in U.S. without company sponsorshipDesired Qualifications:*
Basic Survey Knowledge- Trimble and laser level knowledge Operating
a Global Positioning System
