Job Description:

Position Overview We are seeking an EV Calibration Engineer responsible for the development of electric vehicle (battery electric and/or fuel cell) powertrain calibration to performance specifications and related requirements. The work involves diagnostic system calibration to meet emission compliance requirements. Specifically, designing tests, analyzing results, and reviewing results prior to release. Test support and troubleshooting are necessary as part of this job. In addition, continual verification of released calibrations is critical to respond to any warranty issues and year over year compliance activity. Position can be located in Lisle, IL or Elmendorf, TX Position responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develops functionality as listed in program Functional Objectives Coordinate and participate in vehicle test trips to support development goals. Troubleshoot issues during development, validation, and production. Performs data analysis & reports results as below: Utilizes templates for plotting all test data Maintains plotted data and calibration settings for tests in pre-designated location Analyzes test data to draw conclusions Documents conclusions & summaries in report or presentation format and conducts data reviews/summaries with team. Documents significant issues & resolutions via standard channel. Provides any potential design change recommendations through formal report with supporting data Assist in the calibration of electric vehicle/powertrain diagnostics. Review Diagnostic service procedures, service tool function and service manual for electric vehicles. Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology At least 2 years of experience in product design/development OR Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills BSME or BSEE , Hands on experience with vehicles Become proficient at using the tools used for calibration development, data analysis, and understanding the control system(s): INCA, Matlab/Simulink, Python, CANalyzer, PowerBI, etc Utilize established engineering practices and software to document workflow and track calibration updates via change control process. CCR (calibration change request), Cal compare, DVP&R, FMEA. On site Engineering prototype build and support.
