Accounts Payable - Associate

We are looking for a motivated individual to join Huron's accounts payable team. This individual will have solid accounts payable experience and the desire and ability to work on Accounts Payable tasks, in addition to improvement projects and initiatives. This individual will be expected to enter and process invoices according to set processes and SLAs, manage the AP mailbox (on rotation), create settlements, investigate supplier inquiry requests, and support customer requests and needs. Other tasks may include researching past due invoices, performing supplier verifications, researching payments, and analyzing and/or running reports.

This individual must have excellent customer service skills to support the needs of our fast-paced business. In addition, strong attention to detail, the ability to follow and adhere to process, and work within a remote team is critical. This individual must also be able to work independently with minimal direction and have a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely work. The preferred candidate for this role will also have strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field from an accredited institution
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in accounts payable processing, entering invoices, creating reports, performing analysis, reviewing aging reports, and other related tasks.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including excellent business writing skills.
  • Ability to perform well in a remote setting, with team members spread out in different locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including intermediate to advanced Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with minimal direction.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently while in a team environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to own projects, drive projects to completion, analyze issues and work with other team members to resolve.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field from an accredited institution (Or equivalent experience performing in a related role)
  • Workday knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Experience with internal or external audits
