Position and Responsibilities
As a Piping Designer with Middough, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Establish simple designs consistent with piping good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards.
Generate design and detail drawings including orthographics, plans/sections, and isometrics.
Apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects and provide guidance and leadership to drafters to ensure that all established Company and client design standards and practices are followed.
Manage and maintain the Project Documentation such as flat files, reference/stick files, and CAD drawings.

Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following: Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent, preferred but not necessary.
5+ years of experience in designing piping systems in a refinery or petrochemical setting.
5+ years of experience in piping designer experience working with isos, creating engineering and/or construction packages, field sketching, and climbing.
Demonstrated design in refining or petrochemical experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Codes and Standards
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
Strong multitasking and organizational abilities for efficiency.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, use repeating motions that may include the wrists/hands/fingers and talk and hear.
Frequently use up-close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
Overtime may be necessary as workload's dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
In some cases, the site working environment may include outside conditions and exposure to high temperatures.
When working outside Middough's office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Middough and/or Client, as required.
