Job DescriptionOlympia Fields, IL (4,718). The Village of
Olympia Fields is a beautiful, diverse community located in the
south suburbs of Cook County. The Village developed through its
association with the prestigious Olympia Fields Country Club.
Primarily a residential community, Olympia Fields offers several
retail and restaurant establishments and a variety of houses of
worship. It is considered a wonderful community to work and raise a
family. The Executive Assistant to the Village Administrator will
report to the Village Administrator and provide administrative
support to the Village President. The successful candidate will
have experience in corporate or local government administration,
particularly in human resources, board/corporate meeting agenda
preparation and general office administration. Other significant
responsibilities include coordinating the Village's external
communications, including a monthly newsletter, and managing the
business and liquor license application process. The Village
governed by the Village President and Board of Trustees and managed
by a Village Administrator. The Village provides Building, Economic
Development, Finance, Fire/EMS, Police, Public Works (including
water and sewer) services to its residents. The Village has 44 full
and part time employees. Successful candidate will:
- Be an energetic professional with strong communication,
administrative and technical skills.
- Have experience in Microsoft Office applications including
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Be adept at working in a fast-paced working environment and
operate with a high sense of urgency.
- Have professionally developed organizational and project
management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet project
- Be a teambuilder with teambuilding skills.
- Provide backup administrative support to other departments as
- Be available at various hours for business-related tasks during
regular business hours and periodically during off-hours (evenings
and weekends). Candidates should also have:
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, urban studies,
human resources management, or a closely related field; master's
degree is preferred.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a related field,
preferably in municipal government. The starting salary range is
$75,000- $90,000 +/- DOQ. The Village offers an excellent benefit
