Overview
The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit
environmental advocacy organization. We use law, science, and the
support of 3.1 million members and online activists to protect the
planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure the rights of all
people to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities. NRDC was
founded in 1970 and our staff helped write some of America's
bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act, and many
of the implementing regulations. Today, our staff of more than 700
lawyers, scientists, economists, policy advocates, communications
experts, and others work across the United States and
internationally from our offices in New York; Washington, D.C.;
Chicago; Santa Monica; San Francisco; Bozeman, Montana; and
Beijing.
Position Summary:
NRDC is seeking a Program Coordinator to work with the Information
Technology (IT) team in either our New York, Washington DC,
Chicago, Santa Monica, Bozeman (MT), or San Francisco offices. The
role is responsible for planning and managing the policies and
procedures associated with the IT department. Duties include
planning and maintaining the department's annual budget; planning
and implementing IT strategies; executing the department's overall
initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the team
leaders to plan and monitor the department's fiscal budget,
maximizing cost-effectiveness
* Work with the Project Management Team to plan and monitor IT and
Operations projects
* Work with Client Services Team to manage company mobile device
strategy
* Strategize and implement IT policies and procedures
* Review and approve the procurement of technology services and
equipment
* Strategize and implement IT policies and procedures
* Manage communications between the functioning IT teams and the
relevant stakeholders within operations
* Plan, schedule, and facilitate internal and external program
meetings and events
* Build partnerships with key stakeholders and leaders
* Managing contracts and agreements with consultants and service
companies to ensure all project requirements are fulfilled
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree in business administration, computer science, or
a relevant field
* 2 + years working with teams and departments on projects,
strategies, and initiatives
* Strong verbal and written communications skills
* Strong budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting abilities
* Good knowledge of change management best practices
* Good project management and organizational skills
* Problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Active listening and capacity to communicate empathetically
* Attention to detail along with an aptitude in long-term
planning
* Ability to adapt to a changing environment

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive
working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and
commensurate with skills and experience. The salary for this
position is $55,000 to $65,000. Internal equity considerations and
the average salary of the peer range will be reviewed before making
a final offer.
Since March 2020, NRDC's offices have been closed due to the
COVID-19 pandemic. You will be attached to the NY, DC, CH, SF, SM
or MT office, but until circumstances allow us to re-open, we will
continue to support staff with remote working arrangements. Should

review any change to your compensation, and relocation assistance,
at that time.
