JOB TITLE: Senior Business Development Coordinator DEPARTMENT: MarketingREPORTS TO: Business Development DirectorLOCATION: Chicago---JOB SUMMARYThe Senior Business Development Coordinator works directly with the marketing team to implement various practice and industry programs, as well as ad hoc requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES--- Creates and edits standard and custom pitch materials, responses to RFPs and proposals, and business development presentations (Word, PowerPoint, and InDesign).--- Creates, develops, and presents new marketing and business development initiatives and opportunities.--- Conducts competitive intelligence research and compiling information regarding existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry or market trends to aid in creating new business development opportunities. Familiarity with research tools such as Monitor Suite, Capital IQ, Lexus Nexus preferred. --- Manages multiple projects and responding quickly to inquiries to serve as an ambassador of superior internal client service.--- Writes original news clips and publicizing across social media platforms, updating the website with new events, matters, and developments.--- Drafts and coordinates regular web and print marketing content updates, including practice area descriptions, attorney biographies, and related news items.--- Responsible for producing, editing, proofreading, and distribution of client updates and other client communications--- Coordinates client programs and sponsorships, including budgeting and tracking associated costs; creating and mailing invitations; overseeing internal/external promotion/advertising; developing seminar materials and handouts; working or attending the event; measuring return on investment; coordinating with vendors; managing timelines and ensuring participant follow-up. --- Assists with drafting, editing, and finalizing yearly submissions to legal directories, other award submissions, and internal surveys. --- Tracks and researches potential conferences and opportunities for cross-selling and promoting the firm's brand and practices. Coordinates and negotiates registrations and related marketing activities such as logos, giveaways, and ad placements.--- Assists with press releases, drafting and coordinating various media opportunities, and distributing newsletters to clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:--- High level of interpersonal and oral communication skills.--- Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.--- Solid proofreading and researching skills required.--- Must be client service oriented.--- Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in an organized and creative manner.--- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Outlook and Word.--- Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressure.--- Demonstrates initiative and ability to exercise sound independent judgment.--- Flexibility for overtime (morning and evening) required.Education:--- Bachelor's degree required; Marketing related concentration preferred.Experience:--- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of direct work experience at a law firm or professional services environment.
