Job Description:
The Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) is a membership
organization that supports and promotes the teaching of computer
science, providing opportunities for K-12 teachers and their
students to better understand computer science and to more
successfully prepare themselves to teach and learn. CSTA is looking
for an intermediate level, Sr. Event Coordinator who will be
responsible for providing key administrative support to the
Director of Program Operations in the planning and execution of
CSTA events and programs that support the ongoing professional
development of teachers and ultimately improve the quality of
teaching and learning of K-12 computer science. -Essential Duties
and Responsibilities
- Owns the exhibitor and sponsorship fulfillment process,
ensuring all partners receive an outstanding level of customer
service. Works collaboratively with the Manager of Partnerships and
Community Relations to build creative sponsorship packages. Serves
as main point of contact for all partners after they have purchased
their sponsorship package. -
- Manages the speaker process once sessions and content has been
completed. This includes monthly speaker newsletters, maintaining
an accurate list of speakers, answering questions of speakers,
providing speaker training, ensuring housing and registration
information is accurate for speakers. etc. -
- Oversees event scholarship award process: scores applications,
communicates registration details, and coordinates travel logistics
applicable. Works to ensure the scholarship process is aligned with
CSTA's DEI Strategy. -
- Manages the conference inbox, serves as main contact for
attendees. Communicates with conference volunteers, and may assist
with committee meetings.
- Coordinates the food & beverage orders for in-person CSTA
events. Works to ensure all food restrictions are accommodated and
the orders come in under budget. -
- Collaborates with the events team on AV needs for all breakout
sessions.
- Coordinates individual session feedback surveys across all
events. Maintains a list of highly-rated speakers and low-rated
speakers to use for future decision-making across all events.

- Coordinates with the Director of Program Operations on
post-event survey needs. -
- Assists the Event Manager with keeping the registration website
up to date with FAQs to help attendees with their registration,
helps attendees with registration concerns.
- Manages VIP travel arrangements for staff, committee members,
board members, keynotes, and other VIPs. Works with the Office
Manager for reimbursements and travel arrangements. -
- Serves as a point of contact for CSTA webinar logistics,
including not limited to, event set up on CSTA's website,
communication with speakers and attendees, and collaborates with
the education team as logistical support. -
- Support additional CSTA events when needed. This includes, but
is not limited to:
- CSEdWeek
- Chapter Meetings
- Regional Events/Meetups
- Other duties as assigned. -Experience & Qualifications
- 3-4 years of professional experience
- Successful completion of a 2-year course of study in an
accredited college or university leading to an associates degree or
higher degree
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Superior critical thinking skills and judgment, with an ability
to maintain a professional, upbeat attitude
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work with
multiple deadlines
- Ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple
tasks.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and with a group
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially on
virtual interfaces
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google
SuitePreferred:
- Experience in a non-profit, association or foundation
setting
- Experience with event management software, such as CventOther:

- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% time and
occasionally work outside normal business hours. Travel costs are
