Job Description: ---- Intern will work in the Strategic Sourcing Procurement Excellence Group and will support Direct and Indirect Materials initiatives, which may include collaboration with USG plants and cross-functional teams, suppliers, inbound freight carriers, etc. ---- Primary objective of the internship will be to identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities through data and process improvement. ---- Intern will be responsible for learning and executing basic operations in USG's ERP system, reporting tool, and other job-related solutions. ---- The role will include day to day operational responsibilities, individual and group projects, computer and analytical assignments, reporting and KPI development, problem solving and error resolution, Supply Chain process improvement, presentation & training material preparation, and communication assignments. ---- Summer projects will include, but are not limited to: o Provide input and data analysis in support of cost improvement initiatives o Develop procurement metrics for category / item spend management o Participate in cross-functional team efforts aimed at improving process efficiencies o Data Analysis such as Tail Spend/Leakage identification or Compliance Reporting for National Agreements o Standard Operating Procedure creations and updates -Qualifications: ---- Currently enrolled in a degree program at a recognized university in Supply Chain or related disciplines. ---- Strong experience with Microsoft Office products, applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). ---- PowerBI, Tableau, or other reporting experience is welcomed. ---- Good written and oral communication skills. ---- Understanding of statistics and data analysis. --- Strong interpersonal skills ---- Ability to work in high pace environment ---- Ability to work in a team environment across cross-functional departments ---- Ability to learn USG systemsRate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.USG employees enjoy a number of benefit options for themselves and their families.
