Job Description:
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000SummaryUnder the direction of the
Director of Procurement, the Procurement Specialist is responsible
for the purchasing of materials, equipment and supplies in the
organization taking consideration cost, quality, and production
time restraints. This position will plan, develop, schedule,
optimize, organize, direct, manage, evaluate, and be
responsible/accountable for some or all the supply chains processes
of the organization.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list
of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be
expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management
may deem necessary from time to time.Assess vendor capabilities,
develop alternate sources and evaluate vendor
performance.Communicate with other departments regarding product
developments and the availability of materials and supplies.Keep
abreast of changes in the market, new product developments or
processes.Proactively seek and lead innovative ways to improve the
procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service
levelsStrong understanding of "One Procurement" category strategies
and work on projects that impact the "One Procurement" team.First
line responder; pivots between strategy and operations.Execute
against larger category strategies and work in the guidance of
strategic category leaders.Research and evaluate products and
suppliers. Perform value analysis on costs and supplier
quotes.Support PO conversion - non transactional and decisive
negotiations.Manage PO approval processes.Support operations issues
and invoice error resolution and solve complex problems.Manage PO
changes and evaluate the cause for change.Communicate and educate
appropriate departments to provide appropriate supporting
documentation for purchases.Develop and lead agreed purchasing
strategies for categories of purchases.Seek, develop, and establish
business relationships with diverse suppliers, to establish
business reviews, supplier scorecards, etc.Meet regularly with
customers and lead functions to ensure superior customer
satisfaction and continuous improvement for
efficiencies.Responsible for leading and mentoring Buyer/Purchasing
procurement personnel.Responsible to drive compliance with
applicable corporate policies and procedures.Job skills
Requirements:Broad knowledge of purchasing function concepts and of
supplier commodity process and practices.Well-developed written and
verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations and
interactions with diverse groups of people inside/outside of the
corporation.Demonstrated broad knowledge and technical expertise in
area of specialty or industry.Demonstrate proficiency with PC
software (WP, spreadsheets) and technologyEducation and/or
ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Business or related fields or
equivalent experience.Minimum of five years of experience in area
of specialty or industry.Strong organizational and communication
skillsAbility to work with othersAbility to complete purchase
orders, schedules and assigned reports.Physical DemandsThe physical
