SUMMARY: Performs a broad complement of technology-related duties, including providing firm-wide technical support to attorneys and staff for Firm supported computers and peripherals and software applications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be additionally assigned.

  • Configure, deploy, update and maintain user desktops, laptops, and software applications including Microsoft Office, antivirus, timekeeping, dictation, and others; ghost computers
  • Answer, evaluate and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking and other computer-related technologies, including printers and other office equipment
  • Provide support for Firm equipment, products and services. Support may include answering questions, troubleshooting problems, teaching or instructing users regarding software or hardware functionality, and communicating policy
  • Determine the most effective manner to resolve technical issues. Listen carefully, ask precise questions, and determine the nature of the issue from the user's responses; engage in research and in-depth troubleshooting; consult with other IT staff and/or elevate complex or high priority problems to the appropriate IT team member for resolution
  • Accurately, record, update and document requests and required information into the IT service desk system, log and track status changes and follow-up reminders, record resolutions for future reference, close tickets upon completion, and follow up on resolved requests to ensure user satisfaction
  • Handle interactions with computer users with diplomacy and tact; gauge a user's technical abilities and communicate in a non-condescending fashion using appropriate technical or non-technical language
  • Proactively maintain current inventory of IT equipment, supplies and licenses, and alert appropriate team members to low inventories
  • Maintain department calendaring system as assigned. Scheduling tasks may include the tracking and reporting of appointments, due dates, contract and subscription renewal dates, maintenance and upgrades, etc.
