Service Desk Technician

Job Description:

The Service Desk Technician acts as the first point of contact for incoming Service Desk tickets. Installs, troubleshoots and maintains end user computer hardware, software, operating systems and peripheral equipment. Attempts first contact resolution, escalates complex issues and logs all activity. Supports department operations, network and special projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and maintain PC hardware/software systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PC related problems and conflicts
  • Support daily and periodic computer operations and functions
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs to computer and peripheral equipment
  • Provide technical assistance and training to system users
  • Install cables and provide network support
  • Maintain computer logs and inventories
  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
    • High School diploma required; associate degree or higher desired
    • 1-3 years related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Personal computer and related hardware and operating systems experience
    • A+ Certification Required
    • Microsoft certification is a plus
    • Strong judgment and decision making abilities
    • The ability to work well with others
