Sr Enterprise Architect-ENG001870Works with Principal Enterprise
Architect in setting the overall direction, policies, standards and
guidelines for the IS organization's technology environment.
Responsible for defining end to end reference architectures for new
technologies and also for evaluating the impact to existing end to
end architectures when new services are launched. Familiarity with
all aspects of the business at the enterprise level. Lead the
development and maintenance of the technical, application, and
information strategies. Ensure that enterprise architectures are
developed, maintained and integrated within the process of strategy
development and technology planning. Partners with key stakeholders
for insight into business and technology goals and
requirements.
- Key contributor in the planning of overall IT strategy
- Understand, advocate and augment the principles of business and
IT - and more specifically enterprise architecture (EA) -
strategies
- Analyze enterprise business context (trends and business
strategy) to derive technical architecture. Analyze technology
industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on
the enterprise
- Analyze the current technology environment to detect critical
deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
- "Sell" the enterprise architecture process, its outcome and
ongoing results
- Develops strategic technical architectures (current state,
reference, transition) for the IS organization, which are used to
guide subsequent solution, infrastructure, and application
architectures
- Develops and manages an architecture governance process to
ensure compliance of all projects to the desired state
architecture
- Provides Buy/Hold/Sunset recommendations for application
portfolio management
- Designs information systems architectures that are aligned to
the enterprise's business objectives
- Ensures that the business rules are consistent across the
organization, that interfaces and information flows are
standardized and connectivity and interoperability are managed
across the enterprise and outside it where necessary
- Facilitates and manages change related to technical aspects of
the enterprise
- Develops organization-wide architecture standards for data
interchange and common applications
- Provides deep expertise in two or more technology domains
- Oversees and facilitate the evaluation and selection of
hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as
the design of standard configurationsBusiness Partnership
- Acknowledged expert within the organization. Participates in
industry/knowledge reference groups. Involves mastery of a
specialized discipline and thorough understanding of a number of
disciplines
- Establishes strong working relationships with peer business
organizations - including (but not limited to) Marketing, Sales,
Customer Service, Finance, Network Engineering, Human Resources,
and Legal - to understand technical capabilities required to enable
these groups to meet their respective business objectives
- Partners with domain architects across the organization to
ensure that application, information, and infrastructure domain
architectures are congruent with each other, and holistically
enable the enterprise to achieve its business objectives
- Participate in and support cross-technology process improvement
initiatives
- Participate in firm-wide Architecture / Engineering working
groups, and ensure that the IS organization is aligned to corporate
technology directions
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent
work experience is required
- Masters in Computer Information Systems, MBA, or equivalent is
preferred
- 15+ years' experience implementing Information Technology in an
enterprise of similar technical breadth and scale. Ideally across
multiple functional roles including Architect, Design, Code, Test,
Deploy, and Operate
- Minimum 4 years performing Enterprise Architecture for a
company of similar technical breadth and scale
- Working Knowledge of architecture methods is required; TOGAF 9
Certification (or equivalent) is preferred
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Familiarity with the technology organization and business
application portfolio
- Understanding of relevant technologies and development life
cycles
- Strong business and product knowledge
- Big 5 consulting with enterprise architecture methodology /
