Job Description:
Highland Baking Company seeks hard-working, motivated, go-getter
candidates to fill the Maintenance Engineer position. The
technician is expected to proactively assist operation personnel as
needed in daily activities to meet organizational objectives. The
Maintenance Engineers are vital to our organization, ensuring that
our customers receive quality products on time by ensuring our
machines work properly and efficiently using proactive and
preventative methods.
Job Type: Full-timeShiftsEvening shift - 12:30 pm to 9 pm and
overnight shift - 8:30 pm to 5 amDuties --- Basic computer
knowledge tandide reports and/or data and documentatio,n in various
programs including Microsoft Office, CMMS, and E-mail---
Responsible for diagnosing and repairs in a variety of mechanical,
electrical, and electr,onic equipment including, but not limited
to, process equipment, robotics, boiler systems, compressed air
systems, refrigeration systems, sanitation equipment, HVAC units,
and all other assigned equipment. --- Comply with all safety
regulations, support plant safetyand initiatives, proper operating
procedures, and utilize approved safety equipment such as safety
eyeglasses, safety shields, gloves, earplugs, and footwear.---
Maintains accurate, legible, and timely records of work performed
on work orders, parts requests, inspections, and preventive
maintenance documents. --- Maintains plant equipment by
interpreting shop manuals and schematic drawings and through verbal
instruction from supervision/co-workers--- Responsible for
preventing injuries by ensuring to follow of all policies,
procedures, and safe work practices, such as LOTO, fall protection,
--- Follow company policies and programs including but not limited
to Safety, HAACP, GMP, SQF--- Responsible for always following all
mechanical and electrical troubleshooting safety procedures.
Responsible for always following all welding and fabricating safety
procedures.--- Responsible for following all safety procedures as
well as specific procedures dealing with heavy equipment and
hazardous materials. --- Must communicate accurately with
co-workers and team members from other departments--- Displays
initiative in recognizing work to be done and clear judgment in
helping with troubleshooting and recommending repairs. ---
Employees must be available to work weekends and overtime, as
required. --- Dedicated to achieving all Highland Baking Company
and department goals. --- Responsible for all other duties as
assigned. Responsibilities--- The Mechanical/Electrical Technician
will need to have strong troubleshooting skills mechanically and
electrically to resolve or repair issues quickly. You will need to
have a strong eye for technical specifics and potential trouble
spots. You will also need to be flexible, as you will often be
required on the weekends. --- Possess strong organizational
problem-solving along with excellent verbal and written
communication skills. Need to be detail-oriented who can meet
deadlines and work with diverse employees. You must respect all
employees and be willing to train your fellow peers. --- Possess
the ability to work independently, with good judgment and
decision-making skills.--- Ability to use or drive various
equipment, including forklifts, riders, scissor lifts, etc--- ---
Must have mechanical aptitude, dexterity, and ability to use hand
and power tools correctly and safely.--- Must have the ability to
carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram
form.--- Ability to troubleshoot problems involving several
variables.Skills--- Possess a high school diploma or general
education degree (GED); two years experience in the
troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of plant production
machinery preferred. --- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
competently and safely with mechanical equipment. --- Knowledge and
experience with basic hand tools are necessary. --- Basic
electrical training or experience equivalent to conducting basic
electrical troubleshooting
Physical DemandsThe position requires regular physical activity
such as reaching, bending, twisting, squatting, lifting 50 pounds
or more, and walking/standing within and around the site for a
minimum of 8-12 hours daily.Work EnvironmentEmployees will be
working next to large ovens with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees
