Job Description:
To start as soon as possible, Full time, Permanent Functional
area: Renewables Job responsibilities : At RWE Renewables Americas,
the Controlling Americas team is responsible for financial
performance controlling, planning & reporting, portfolio analyses
and target setting for the Onshore Wind, Solar and Energy Storage
businesses. Working as a strategic partner and trusted advisor with
the business, Controlling evaluates improvement measures, actively
gives recommendations / appropriate challenge, and business
decision support. As a Controller (FP&A Analyst) in the
Controlling Americas team, primary responsibilities include:
- Management Support Function Controlling:
- Support timely, complete, accurate, high-quality reporting /
planning / forecasting for the business overhead functions (e.g.
HR, Legal, Procurement, Accounting, Senior Management, Controlling,
Engineering, Construction, External Affairs, etc.).
- Perform KPI analysis and recommend actions to Senior
Management.
- Identify cost savings opportunities, support business
initiatives and ad-hoc analyses.
- High-level of interaction with Head of each Management Support
Function.
- HR Controlling:
- Support timely, complete, accurate, high-quality reporting /
planning / forecasting of FTE headcount and personnel expenses for
the entire company.
- Create and analyse standard set of FTE and personnel cost
performance KPIs; track and analyze value capture activities
related to HR.
- Maintain FTE position plan status across the company, ensuring
accuracy and reflecting any impacts from organizational
changes.
- Interface with HR and Payroll functions to ensure requirements
for internal/external reporting are fulfilled.
- High-level of Senior Management exposure and interaction with
HR function.
- Special Projects:
- Support a variety of mid/long-term special projects across the
business, as required by Senior Management and the Board, to help
drive decision-making.
- Some special project examples include, but are not limited to:
10-year strategic growth plan financial model, project lifetime
profitability analyses, business case support, asset and goodwill
impairment testing, process improvement initiatives.
- Support cross-functional topics across the Controlling
group.
- High-level of Senior Management and Board exposure due to the
nature of special projects.
- Management communication: Prepare materials for and support
meetings with Senior Management and the Board for both regular
reporting activities and special projects/topics.
- Continuous process improvement: Support proactive pursuit of
best practices, processes, standardization and tools that drive
gains in efficiency, automation, and quality.
- Value enhancement: Support cost savings initiatives, EBITDA
enhancement ideas and measurement, and efforts to maximize
value.
- People and communication: Support growth and development of the
team and how we work together locally and globally.
- Other duties as assigned. Qualifications :
- Work experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in
Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial or Management
Consulting, or other Finance-related fields; Renewable energy
experience is a plus, but not required.
- Education: BA/BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business
(required); Advanced degree is a plus, but not required.
- Location: Chicago, IL
- Ability to travel:
- Language: English (fluent), German is a plus
- Systems and tools: Excel (moderate to advanced), PowerPoint,
Word, SAP, Qlikview, Tableau, Power BI, other system/tools
experience is a plus.
- Desired traits: Analytical and proactive problem-solver,
cross-functional collaboration, continuous process improvement,
ability to effectively communicate and interact with Senior
Management, experience working in a global organization is a plus,
integration and change management experience is a plus, general
