Description: Flexible Packaging, Packaging Engineer Essential
Duties:Oversee and manage complete packaging development process,
including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development,
and performance testing.Troubleshoot new and existing packaging
problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide
creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.Analyze engineering
drawings and specifications of product to determine physical
characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety
requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.Assist
all internal teams and perform research on all products and
evaluate packing requirements in development phase of all products,
including commercialization.Develop custom packaging for
customer/market events.Establish standards and guidelines for
supplier evaluation. Evaluate and select packaging
suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews.Identify and
implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials,
labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.Problem solver when
exceptions arise due to packaging unavailability, logistics issues
or part changes.Work closely with Procurement to optimize packaging
supply base for cost, lead time, quality, regionalization,
standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with customer,
regulatory, and internal requirements.Build with the Marketing team
value propositions for improved/new product formatsSpecify and
recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate
packaging designs.Work closely with Sales, Operations, Marketing,
Purchasing and Supply Chain across Brook + Whittle to ensure growth
in the Flexible Packaging market.Other relevant tasks as

Functions: Participates in the internal auditing process. Work with
other departments to focus on continuous improvements.
Requirements: Competency or Position Requirements: Self-motivated,
able to work independently and in team setting, problem solver, and
critical thinker.Computer skills required with knowledge of
software packages (i.e., Microsoft 365, Salesforce, etc.).Ability
to work in a fast-paced, team environment.Communicate effectively
through verbal and written materials.Ability to collect data with
the ability to format, analyze and prepare reports.Organizational
and communication skills that foster teamwork are necessary.Ability
to manage time and prioritize responsibilities.Displays leadership,
responsibility, and good judgment.Effectively present information
in one-on-one and small group situations - both internally and
externally.This position requires the ability to add, subtract,
multiply and divide in common units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to compute
rate, ratio and calculate percentages is required.Travel up to
40%Desired Minimum Qualifications: 5 + years of experience of
flexible packaging in a manufacturing settingBachelor's degree in a
related field (preferably from a recognized packaging school) or a
combination of education and experience.Physical Factors/Work
Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee
is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms,
talk, and hear. The employee is required to sit, use hands and
fingers, handle and feel objects/tools and balance. Specific vision
