Description:Projects will consist of Distribution Design work with utility provider around the greater Chicago Area. Will consist of Make Ready work for Fiber Installations, coordinating with prime contractors and reviewing documents to determine if a specific utility pole has the space for fiber installation and then creating a construction blue print.This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment and lead other engineers and designers using your knowledge of engineering and design practices to:-Prepare/Review construction sketches and details for:-Overhead and underground network services (4 KV through 34 KV)-Structural analyses-Short circuit and voltage drop calculations-Bill of Material-Cost Estimates-Traffic control plans and/or permit drawings-Analyze, design or review priority feeds.-Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.-Plan modifications to the system as well as designing and overseeing complex tasks.-Develop work packages and provide construction support, when necessary.Skills:distribution engineering, utility design, power distribution, gisTop Skills Details:distribution engineering,utility design,power distributionAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Must Have Skills & Experience:-Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineer (other engineering degrees accepted with relevant experience)-2 or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience to be able to review work by others.-Knowledgeable in physical distribution design methods and their application-Knowledgeable in applicable codes, standards, and distribution software programs including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman, etc.-Experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34 kV).-Strong communication skills.-Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicrostationNice to have Skills & Experience:-GIS and Utility analysis software experience-TED/CEGIS -Experience leading teamsExperience Level:Entry Level About Actalent: Actalent connects passion with purpose.
