Job Description:

Hey there, welcome to Foxtrot.

We're the digitally-native evolution of the corner store-the one-stop-shop for those seeking thoughtful food experiences that are a reflection of themselves and their city. We offer a handpicked curation of daily essentials in-store and delivered in as little as 30 minutes, via our app and website.

Alongside our investors like Almanac Insights, Momofuku founder David Chang, Sweetgreen co-founder/co-chief executive officer Nicolas Jammet, and most recently D1 Capital Partners, we're building an omni-channel brand that seamlessly marries e-commerce delivery, proprietary inventory technology, and the feel-good community of neighborhood stores.

Our storefronts offer the most-loved aspects of the neighborhood: beautifully designed interiors that wrap you in the welcoming aroma of locally-sourced coffee, comfortable lounge areas to work and relax in, and chef-prepared meals to snack on throughout the day. And all in a space that joins mindful people, brands, and goods to create a community of discovery and joy. And our swift app and online store further highlight the Foxtrot experience, delivering a new kind of convenience that brings the store straight to your door.

Since launching in 2013, we now operate in Chicago, DC, Dallas, and Austin, rapidly scaling nationwide.

We're seeking an organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Inventory Analyst to join our Merchandising team. You'll be responsible for buying inventory for our stores at the right time in the right amounts to maximize sales demand & minimize excess supply.

Responsibilities:

  • Place purchase orders for assigned Foxtrot locations weekly for over 150+ vendors across six regions, and all Foxtrot stores (currently at 26 and growing)
  • Manage inventory levels and ordering, adhering to key metrics including but not limited to instocks, weeks-of-supply, and sell-through
  • Manage transfers between store locations to optimize inventory allocation
  • Communicate with vendors regarding purchase order details and troubleshoot any issues
  • Maintain ordering and delivery schedules, adhering to requirements from our vendors, and vendor lead times while also considering store schedules
  • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities within merchandising and inventory. Create new data models in Excel to help accurately forecast inventory and sales
  • Engage and support our retail management team regarding inventory questions.
  • Partner with our accounting team to ensure the accuracy of invoicing systems to manage inventory spend
  • Work cross-functionally on the implementation of a new inventory system to manage ordering and receiving goods more efficiently
  • Run weekly and monthly reporting, plus ad-hoc analysis as needed, to perform root-cause analysis to drive meaningful actions

    Qualifications:
    • 1-3 years of experience in merchandising, demand planning, or inventory allocation is required
    • A strong understanding of retail math (price, cost, percent markup, gross margin, etc)
    • Capability to build reporting from scratch to identify opportunities and risks
    • Wizard-level Excel skills (particularly in modeling)
    • Highly analytical approach to solutions
    • The ability to zero in on specific details without losing sight of high-level concepts
    • A master multitasker-you can wear many hats thanks to your exceptional time management and organization skills
    • A proactive, communicative team player who's able to collaborate with colleagues across the organization
    • A college degree is preferred but not required

And we couldn't round this out without mentioning some of the perks of working here, right? Beyond all the coffee you can drink, you'll also enjoy our comprehensive (and growing) benefits program, 401(k) with an employer match, discounts while shopping, and more!
