Job Description:
The Actuarial Consultant will work as part of a team of
professionals to independently analyze complex problems and develop
workable solutions. Support pricing efforts for commercial lines
and create plans, assess the environment and be able to make
recommendations based on knowledge. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or
a business-related discipline with at least three (4) years of
experience within the property & casualty industry if credentialed
(ACAS or FCAS), or at least 8 years' experience if not
credentialed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong written and oral
communication skills Superior problem solving and learning
abilities Organized and capable of working on multiple projects R,
Python or related program coding experience is preferred; an
aptitude to learn other software packages as needed
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work efficiently and
effectively in both independent and team settings Detail oriented
and high level of accuracy Strong interpersonal and communication
skills Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Proficient in Microsoft
Word and PowerPoint Strong analytical, problem solving and judgment
skills Ability to manage a heavy work volume and meet deadlines in
an extremely fast paced environment Strong organizational skills
with an ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a
demanding work environment Strong mathematical skills, and a deep
understanding of risk management Ability to translate actuarial
research into written recommendations ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
REPONSIBILITIES : Compiling statistical data and other information
for further analysis Estimating the probability and likely economic
cost of uncertain events Designing, testing and administrating
insurance policies and other business strategies to minimize risk
and maximize profitability Explaining findings to clients, can do
this using charts and tables Assist with loss reserving, pricing,
and data analytics projects for a variety of commercial property
and casualty lines of business Organize and analyze large volumes
of data, ensuring integrity and accuracy Apply complex actuarial
theories and principles to create statistical models Assist in the
preparation of proposals and presentations for prospects Performs
actuarial calculations moderately complex actuarial studies and
develops rates for existing and/or new business Prepares or
coordinates the preparation of standard reports as well as special
reports for management Education Required Bachelors or betterJob
