Position:The Associate Manager, Clinical Supply Chain - Healthcare
/ Pharma is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing
clinical trial material (CTM) activities for various clinical
supply programs to support the drug development process. Will
support multiple studies and oversee supplies and distribution for
a global study footprint. Works collaboratively to identify and
meet supply and distribution challenges. Monitors inventory and
evaluates trends. Works closely with Management and interfacing
departments and Clinical Pharmacy staff to identify needs and to
develop and implement solutions to meet needs. Independently
prepares good quality documentation for clinical trial materials
and supports departmental initiatives. There is a potential for
entry-level supervisory responsibilities. Essential Job
Responsibilities:Manages complex programs with a low level of
oversight. Proactively keeps management informed of supply plans
and timing. Escalates issues appropriately based on risk. Produces
detailed plans and contingencies and executes on compound/drug
related supply chain activities. Develops clinical supply
forecasts, packaging and labeling plans, and Astellas system
documentation with first-pass approval quality. Interprets clinical
plans and offers solutions to teams. Serves as a key resource for
clinical supply knowledge and expertise. Networks with others to
create better outcomes for projects. Monitors packaging activities
and provides input to management for continual improvement.
Implements suggested improvements. Establishes and monitors project
budgetary spend and communicates variances to teams and management
Identifies issues and proposes recommended solutions to
departmental challenges. Supports other staff development through
coaching with process and product development knowledge. Reviews
staff documentation and provides instruction for improvement.
Represents function on special project teams/task forces with
proactive collaboration. Manages all business documents to high
standards and maintains physical and electronic departmental
project files. Develops experience in staff management and
leadership and supervises staff as assigned. Position may have 0-3
exempt direct reports. Quantitative DimensionsResponsible for
proactively forecasting, planning and coordinating clinical trial
materials for global studies. Collaborates closely with clinical,
technical, and quality assurance colleagues on multiple projects to
evaluate issues and to assure a smooth global supply chain.
Proactively monitors inventory, identifies issues and trends, and
recommends actions for supply and cost optimization. Organizational
ContextThis position reports to a Manager or Director within the
clinical supply team. This person uses planning and job experience
to anticipate and manage all activities related to efficient
clinical supply management including the forecasting, planning and
control of packaging, labeling, storage, distribution, returned
goods reconciliation and destruction. This person attends study and
technical team meetings and represents the clinical supply area.
This position oversees vendor work and sets plans for packaging,
labeling, and distribution including detailed planning required to
