Global Helium has an immediate opening for a dependable Truck Driver (CDL A or B) to join our team located in East Chicago, IN. Linde's Helium and Rare Gases Division distributes liquid and compressed noble gases for use in a variety of applications. including electronics, aerospace, MRI/NMR, advanced materials manufacturing, and metal fabrication. ResponsibilitiesTruck Driver I - is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Must interact with both colleagues and customers in a professional manner.
• Safety focused and environmentally conscious
• Comply with all company policies including use of PPE, in-cab video technology, and HOS.
• Must maintain a CDL class B license with Hazmat endorsement.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical, DOT physical and random drug & alcohol testing.
• Ability to work shifts as per DOT guidelines, which may include possible layovers, evenings, weekends, call outs.
• Perform Pre/Post trip vehicle inspections, ability to load / unload and secure assets in accordance with DOT standards.
• Accurately completes all written and electronic documentation associated with driving duties.
• Plan and schedule delivery routes in an efficient manner.
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and complete all required company training.
• Maintains cleanliness and maintenance of company truck. Ensure all in cab documentation is up to date.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred, but willing to train motivated individual.
  • Commercial driving school certified a plus.
  • Safely operate commercial vehicle transporting hazardous materials and Liquid Refrigerated (cryogenic) and Compressed Noble Gases
  • Ability to follow direction and procedures
  • Ability to work safely around high-pressure gas, cryogenic liquid, and rotating equipment.
  • Computer proficiency: Excel, Word, Email, Electronic Logs, handheld scanner.
  • Strong communication skills: both verbally and written.
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willing and able to travel (Up to 40%)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 75 pounds.
