Be part of THE best transportation company in the Chicagoland area, The Custom Companies, Inc.Be part of an organization that values associates who contribute to the overall success of the organizationEncourages personal growth, development, and team environment.You are not just an "employee", you are part of a family.As a Carrier Sales Representative, you will facilitate the achievement of business goals through strategic sales activities including: managing a freight portfolio from pickup to delivery, providing and negotiating freight rates, building carrier relationships, and leveraging knowledge of the industry to influence the decision-making process.The ideal candidate must be comfortable on the phone and have great communication skills. The role requires the ability to multi-task, problem solve and prioritize daily workload. Duties and Responsibilities:Create and maintain a professional relationship with reliable carriers.Negotiate transportation rates, issue rate confirmations, and dispatch freight to truckload carriers.Use your carrier relationships to secure trucks to move your shipments.Perform track and trace functions to ensure world class, on-time pickup and delivery to customers.Collaborate with the Customer Sales team to streamline processesWork internally with sales team and customer service teams to ensure freight coverage throughout America.Accurately maintain and update information in the company's software operating system.Consistently provide service and support to truckload carriers in an effort to expand the business relationship. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent resultsStrong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence othersDetail oriented and ability to multi-task on a daily basisFlexible; able to change focus quickly to meet demands of market conditions and company needsAbility to identify, report and correct problems.Understanding of DOT and industry regulations.Results driven, able to navigate and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
