Job Description:
The University of Chicago's Department of Pathology is searching
for full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor at
the Hyde Park campus. Appointees will possess the vision and
expertise necessary to integrate cutting-edge diagnostic/clinical
service with an innovative program in research and education. They
will be involved in sign-out of a broad scope of molecular
diagnostics tests and have time and resources to participate in new
test development and translational research. Appointees will report
to the Vice Chair for Clinical Genomics. Other duties will include
teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly
activity. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. These

faculty members. The Molecular Diagnostics Section is CLIA includes
state-of-the-art diagnostics utilizing next-generation sequencing
(NGS) and other genomics platforms to support personalized clinical
diagnostics in multiple areas of pathology, with a dedicated focus
on oncology. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants
must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be
eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and
Indiana, and 3) be eligible for the Anatomic and/or Clinical
Pathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology board examinations. To be
